If you would like to find out why this blog is called Dwelling Place, you need not look any further than right HERE.
By day I work in advertising, but am also wife to the very patient Brian (who puts up with all of my shenanigans) and mom to Jack-a-roni. (Not to mention Pet Parent to two girls of the furry variety (Tez and Izzy) who make their appearance in this space from time to time.)
I am a little bit of a wing nut (who am I kidding...I’m a lot a bit of a wing nut) who has a passion for writing, decorating, cooking, entertaining and gardening. I started this blog in January 2011 as a space to share ideas and give myself a creative outlet. So keep in mind, I am not a professional by any means. Actually I'm a complete hack, but I hope that you will enjoy learning along with me!
Four years ago the B. Man and I bought our current house, a 1968 New England Colonial and have devoted every spare moment and dime to making it our home, giving it a soul! I was raised by 2 hard-core do-it-yourselfers. My Mom & Dad were doing this way before HGTV! So it’s in my blood. Brian was not raised this way but after spending time with this family has come to love the DIY! (not that he had much of a choice in the matter ;-) )
Every week I will try to share a yummy recipe, a project, a garden tip, some design inspiration or just some cool pictures (or any combination of the above!) Please don't be shy about leaving comments. I want to hear it, the good, the bad and the ugly!
I hope you find this a fun, interactive space to share your thoughts, and maybe...just maybe...glean a bit of inspiration to use in your own home!
